National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme

Organized by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE)

A scheme to promote apprenticeship training and increase the engagement of apprentices. It replaces the classroom-only model with an 'earn while you learn' model, providing companies with financial incentives to hire apprentices.

Financial Benefits

  • Stipend: ₹5,000 to ₹9,000 per month (minimum)
  • Subsidy: Govt reimburses 25% of prescribed stipend to employers
  • On-the-job training (OJT) with established companies
  • Basic training cost (up to ₹7,500) covered by Government
  • Official National Trade Certificate upon completion

Official Warnings

  • Do not pay employers for an apprenticeship. It is illegal.
