Fair Use Notice

How we approach copyright, attribution, and takedowns.

Our position

The Career Machine aggregates and transforms publicly available career and labor data to help people navigate their careers. Our use of third-party data is intended to qualify as fair use (or fair dealing in the UK) because it is transformative, limited in scope, non-commercial for job seekers, and properly attributed.

Fair use factors

  • The Platform uses aggregated data for transformative purposes — organizing, analyzing, and adding intelligence for job seekers.

  • We use only the minimum content necessary to inform users (summaries, metadata, statistics), not full-text redistribution.

  • The Platform is provided free of charge for job seekers, with no advertising placed against copyrighted content itself.

  • All aggregated content is properly attributed, and users are directed to the original source for the full experience.

  • We honor takedown and correction requests promptly.

Our commitments

  • Attribute all data providers on our Attribution page.

  • Link back to the original job listings and content wherever possible.

  • Never claim ownership of third-party content.

  • Remove content promptly upon a valid takedown request.

  • Provide clear contact channels for rights holders.

Takedown or correction request

If you are a copyright holder or the owner of data currently displayed on the Platform and believe your rights are affected, please contact us with:

  1. Your name and legal role (e.g. rights holder, agent).
  2. Identification of the specific content and URL.
  3. The nature of your request (removal, correction, license).
  4. Contact details and, where applicable, evidence of ownership.
