Job Description: Data Analyst - Digital Products Job Type: Contract Location: New York, NY - On-site Schedule: Monday-Friday Pay Rate: $55-$60/hour, depending on experience Openings: 2-4 Target Start: Late September 2026 Job Overview We are seeking a Data Analyst to support a Digital Products team focused on clean energy initiatives, data products, and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate is more than a traditional reporting or BI analyst. We are looking for someone with strong analytical judgment who can understand the context behind data, identify anomalies, investigate data-quality issues, and translate findings into actionable business and operational insights. Key Responsibilities - Analyze, validate, and interpret large and complex datasets. - Work across multiple data repositories and source systems. - Use SQL to combine and transform data, including complex joins. - Identify anomalies, trends, inconsistencies, outliers, and data-quality issues. - Investigate issues and perform root-cause analysis. - Determine whether data is reliable and sufficient for analysis. - Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and repeatable analytical products. - Support testing and validation of analytical tools and methodologies. - Translate technical findings into clear insights for engineers, program managers, and business stakeholders. - Troubleshoot data issues and communicate or escalate findings appropriately. - Manage multiple workflows and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required. - 2+ years of professional data analysis experience. - Strong SQL skills, including complex joins and data transformations. - Experience working with large and/or complex datasets. - Experience working across multiple data sources or systems. - Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills. - Ability to identify data anomalies and quality issues rather than simply report results. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to investigate, prioritize, and communicate data-related issues. Preferred Skills - Python - Power BI - Databricks - Database management - Data integration or data pipeline experience - Data engineering experience - Data visualization and dashboard development - Bulk data testing and validation - Analytical tool, product, or application development Preferred Industry Experience Utility, energy, or clean energy experience is highly preferred but not required. Experience with the following is a plus: - Electric utility or customer usage data - AMI or GIS data - Real-time operational datasets - EVs, battery storage, or electrification - Grid planning or performance - Clean energy initiatives Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be comfortable asking Does this data make sense? and investigating when it doesn't.
