Software Engineer, Consumer Health

OpenAI’s Health AI team is working to ensure that advances in AI meaningfully improve health for everyone. We build AI systems that help people better understand and navigate their health while setting a high bar for safety, reliability, privacy, and user trust. On the Consumer Health team, we’re building health experiences directly into ChatGPT. People can use ChatGPT to understand health information, prepare for appointments, make sense of changes over time, and have more informed conversations grounded in their own health context. Our work sits at the intersection of consumer product engineering, AI, and healthcare. We work closely with product, design, research, safety, privacy, and other ChatGPT teams to build experiences used at global scale. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for product-minded software engineers to build the next generation of consumer health experiences in ChatGPT. You will own products and features end-to-end, from early prototypes through polished experiences used by millions of people. We welcome specialists in mobile, frontend, or full-stack development; you can focus on the area where you have the most depth. This role is ideal for engineers who care deeply about craft and user experience, move quickly from idea to product, and are excited about making complex health information understandable and useful. Prior healthcare or AI experience is not required.
